I photographed this cute little Indigo Bunting in Kansas City while my son and I were walking a nature trail. What a little rascal he was, fast and cute, all at once!
This
image has faux (fake) mats applied to appear as if it is a matted print
but it is actually one image without mats applied. Note that crop on
rock slate will be different due to size of slate
Indigo Bunting Facts:
Migrate at night by the stars.
If you were to find one of his feathers laying around, it would not be blue! Believe it or not, it would be dull brown-black unless you hold it up to the light. His feathers were created in such a way that when the light hits on them, they refract blue to our eyes, somewhat like our sky does! So facinating!
